About BriTon Leap, Inc.

BriTon Leap, Inc. was founded in 1998 by Brian and Tonya Bailie. Their little enterprise was based on a leap of faith that the products' usefulness would be worth all the effort it took to bring them to market. The first product was a shareware program called HUSKeeper, providing cataloging and conversion for Husqvarna Viking(tm) embroidery machine owners. That program was followed by QuickParts+, used by sewing and vacuum retailers for parts ordering and pricing.

After our shareware products, we made a program called Designer's Gallery for the fine folks at Baby Lock USA. Designer's Gallery is now the best, easiest-to-use brand of Windows-based embroidery software available, and it is sold worldwide. For that brand, we make Studio, ColorWorks, Studio+, Studio III, SizeWorks, DensityWorks, HoopWorks, The DG Sampler, MonogramWorks, all the Interactives; Dining In Lace, Christmas Traditions, Simply Trims, Floral Accents, Decorative Quilting, Playtime Applique, Decor, Celtic, Gifts Galore, Sashiko. We also helped design the rest of the brand, QuiltWorks, CustomWorks and MasterWorks. Brian Bailie, Chief, Cook and Bottle-Washer, travels occassionally, presenting this brand across the USA on behalf of Baby Lock USA and in Australia for Echidna. He is frequently a guest instructor at the Love of Sewing Retreats with Nancy Zieman, sponsored by Baby Lock USA.

Several years ago, we met Alex at Vikant who needed a multi-lingual version of the Ultimate Box software. We wrote several innovations into that product such as design scaling on-the-fly, which enables your machine to get a version of a design scaled to fit if it is too big. This product was something we were uniquely qualified for, as Tim, the inventor of the original Amazing Box is part of the team.

In 2003 or 2004 (we can't honestly remember) we started making portable code, ultimately for use in both Mac and Windows platforms. At that time, David, a long-time Apple employee started helping us with some of our projects and gave us the inspiration for this.

In 2007, John Deer of Adorable Ideas had a brililant idea for a program - combining Embroidered Applique with Printed Fabric and photography. That program, Adorable You! (available from www.adorableideas.com) has impressed both home embroiderers and commercial embroiderers alike. John Deer's events are always well-attended and among the best in the world.

The development of Apple products is not new to us here at BriTon Leap. Brian was developing products for sale for use with Apple 2+ back in the early 1980's, including Mr. Speaker, the first commercially available amplified speaker for a home computer. Our development team includes longtime Apple and IBM developers with nearly 90 years combined experience.

BriTon Leap is headquartered in New Mexico, with offices and support staff in Washington, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Ontario CA, with artists, distributors and collaborators worldwide. The Bailies' leap of faith has been proven worthwhile, indeed!
